Green

Late Spring.
           The dew of reincarnation
           Covers everything.

           David's skin smells like rain.

There is a deception May delivers.
           That of color
           And beginnings.
           That of blossom
           And jaded leaves.

           For a few days
           We are green again,
           Caught in the embryo
           Of promises.
