Man Overboard
Pouring out from kelp shadows
thousands of iridescent scales
shift noiselessly.
I pull my long arms up,
fin slips sideways,
pewter spoon
stirs the sloomy ocean
in welcome. There,
do you see my liquid smile?
Let me breathe for you.
Tawny hand grasps yours, we fall
between curtains of current
into plankton realms.
