Concerto in See Sharp Minor

Prelude:
Icy mirror glints with piercing blue
reflects a pure sky in moraine-steeped lake.
The music of color bounces off frigid eye,
composing a fugue of confusion inside.

Fugue:
Brittle dreams fall as virgin dust on soil,
wind-driven in symphonic vulgar-slang,
tongue-stuck sharp on bone-cold brass
answers in a low euphonic gasp.

Courante:
Red-tail hawk in syncopated pursuit
decrescendos toward unaware quarry below-
enters on cue in looking-glass reply,
and fearing reprisal retreats to clear sky.

Finale:
Illusion successfully alters reality
fear sees a dissonance in every chord,
at once you encounter your own mortality
and the melody acts as a double-edged sword.
