Ludlow Press Poetry
My ex-wife is a delicate creature
When she’d step on my bare feet
In her Soviet issue boots
She would often apologize
She wanted to teach me a lesson
In human emotional constraint
And I do believe she was successful
You who know me now
With hole in my chest
And at ninety-one foot pounds
Cannot imagine the soul and total rearrangement
She undertook in me before she left
